Why An Easter Revision Course Is Right For You

It’s never too early to start thinking about your upcoming exams. Before you know it, class will be over, coursework will be handed in, and you’ll have gone through the whole syllabus with your teacher. Now you are left with the Easter period to make sure you are ready for your exams. This can be a daunting task, and it's not always easy to stay productive and organised when studying alone. That’s why a week-long intensive Easter revision course can really help you study smart. Whether it’s for your A Levels or GCSEs, these courses can help you prepare and organise efficiently and tackle problem areas in the run up to your exams. Read on to find out exactly why they work so well.

Small Groups

Revising alone may work for some people, but if you find it hard to stay focused and want to better understand the syllabus, then working in small revision groups is the best way forward. Unlike classroom learning where there can be lots of students wanting the teacher's attention. Learning in groups of 3-6 students can help a lot with your motivation and confidence. Here you can bounce off ideas with students who are all in similar situations to you, making the revision process more enjoyable and effective.

Regular Feedback

Not only do you get to work with other students, but you also get one-on-one time with your tutor, where they give you valuable feedback on your progress. Having an experienced tutor observe your work regularly is so important to improving your learning and performance during your exams. Why is this you may ask? Well, it makes you aware of your mistakes and areas of weakness so you can work on them going further. But that’s not just it, feedback can help you think of new ideas too. When you receive positive feedback, you’ll know exactly what works well and be able to replicate it in the future!

Stay Focused

Unfortunately, you can’t always guarantee a top grade just by attending school. Competition is fierce, so you’ll need to make sure you go over all your work, fully understanding the syllabus and exam expectations. The Easter revision period allows you to do this, so it's good to make every day count. Although, don’t be so hard on yourself if this isn’t always the case. A lot of students struggle to stay motivated and their days not as productive as they intended. Although we do have some great tips on how to stay motivated, our best advice is to stay focused with a revision course. Studying in an environment where everyone wants to work hard and help each other out is the key to effective learning. You’ll end the course proud of yourself and what you have achieved, confident and ready for your exams.

Tailored Exam Practise

It’s not always about what you know but how you can show it. That’s why it’s important that you really understand your exam board and what they expect of you. Tutor House provides revision courses run by experienced teachers and examiners who have specialised knowledge of your exam. Their experience makes them perfectly placed to ensure students achieve top grades and they have a proven track record of doing so. They can walk through exactly how to answer questions, manage your time, and understand the marking criteria, all essential things to know to do well in your exams.

Cover Any Gaps In Knowledge

The best thing about a revision course is that you can go over any topics you don’t feel confident on. There are always things we miss out on in class, or that we need covered again. As part of the course your tutor will break down tricky concepts for you and your classmates making sure you are supported in any areas you have missed out on. They also continue to provide you with extensive resources and material after you finish the course to give you the best chance going forward. You will be so relieved when you open your exam paper and see that exact topic on the first page!
