Roald Dahl Day: What Roald Dahl Character Are You?
Roald Dahl was an award-winning children’s author. Despite the fact that many of his books are a little disturbing in nature, he’s still loved by children today worldwide. So much so that his stories were transformed into blockbuster films, notably: Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Witches and more. But what Roald Dahl character are you? Take this quick quiz to find out.

Now count up your scores and compare them with the characters descriptions below.
A: Matilda Wormwood
If you answered mostly A, then you’re a real life Matilda! This is one of Roald Dahl’s most interesting characters; she’s brave and cunning, smart and wise, but also deep down wants to be like the other kids. She loves school – especially Maths – and she’s a walking genius. We can expect to find your nose in a book and chilling in a quiet place.
B: Willy Wonka
If you picked B, then you’re probably a chocoholic! Or you’re just someone who is constantly thinking of a great invention and tool that could make life easier. This Roald Dahl character is one of the quirkiest, who chooses to live every day to the max.
C: Veruca Salt
If you picked mostly C as your answer, then you’re probably someone who is fairly confident and likes to be the centre of attention. You enjoy the high life, having debates about modern day issues and are a great leader. It’s possible that you’re a high achiever and want to win awards or competitions for your hard work.
D: Miss Trunchbull
If you answered mostly D, then you’re most like one of Roald Dahl’s meanest characters: Miss Trunchbull. You’re probably someone who’s quite assertive, practical, rational, but also has a bit of a mean streak. You prefer humans over animals, you want justice and love all things sports. You’ll choose a horror film over a love story any day!
E: The BFG
If you answered mostly E, then you’re like Roald Dahl’s most favourite character: The BFG (who is also arguably based on the author himself!) You are someone who thrives at night, a bit of a daydreamer but also loves their sleep – more time to dream and live those fantasies! You might not have much of a sweet tooth, but you love fizzy drinks and weird food combos.
One last reminder
Roald Dahl Day is on the 13th September. You can celebrate it by sharing your favourite books with others, or reading one yourself in memory. These stories always carry a moral to it, but also inspire children (and adults!) to explore the world around them, learn and be kind to others. Dahl dares us all to chase our dreams, make mistakes and grow. I’ll leave you with a powerful quote:
"Meanings is not important," said the BFG. "I cannot be right all the time. Quite often I is left instead of right." – The BFG.
